Prayers
I was raised in a Christian based home. One parent was raised Catholic and I believe the other Protestant. My parents took my brother, sister and I to many churches when I was a child. We ended up at a Unitarian Universalist church. This was a great place to hear about all religions and practices. I began my journey to find truth as a boy and I can only speak from my experience. I am always open to learning and would be honored if you would share your favorite prayers.
The prayers below are those that I used during some of my most difficult days. Perhaps they will work for you.
I have used this Novena many times throughout my life. Give it a try for the tough situations in your life.
“May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be Adored, Glorified, Loved & Preserved throughout the world, now & forever. Sacred Heart of Jesus, please pray for me. Saint Jude, Worker of Miracles, please pray for me. Saint Jude, Helper of the Hopeless, please pray for me. Amen.”
Say the prayer 9 times a day for 9 days. It is said that by the 8th day your prayers will be answered. Complete publication must be promised. It has been said to never be known to fail. Thank you St. Jude.
“Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me.” The Jesus Prayer I found this while reading a book called The Way of the Pilgrim.
Mantras
My personal favorites:
Om Ienga Namaha – one of the first given to me. This changed my world and brought out the best in me.
Chants
Om Gum Ganapatayeh Namaha – To invoke the help of Ganesha, the remover of obstacles.
